Ruffles are what makes a dance costume a flamenco dance costume.

There are two types of ruffles, each with countless variations and options. 

Circular ruffles are the most commonly used ruffles for flamenco costumes and we'll have a really close look at 

  • which types of fabrics are suitable and which aren't so you don't waste time and money using the wrong material

  • how to calculate ruffle length and how much fabric you'll need (or what to do when you only have a limited amount of fabric available)

  • how to cut and assemble circular ruffles - tools, tips and tricks, options for outer edge finishes so you can have beautiful ruffles even if you don't have professional equipment

  • how to attach the ruffles to the garment - to the skirt, neckline, sleeves .. anywhere you can think of
